Shree Cement has launched Bangur Concrete, commissioning its first greenfield ready-mix-concrete (RMC) plant in Hyderabad. The facility has a capacity of 90 cubic mtrs. per hour.
As part of this strategy, Shree Cement acquired five operational plants of StarCrete in Mumbai earlier this month for for Rs 33.5 crore. The company’s combined RMC capacity now stands at 512 cubic mtrs. per hour. Bangur Concrete’s product range includes high-performance concrete, self-compacting concrete for use in heavily-reinforced structures, temperature-controlled concrete for large-scale concreting needs and stamped concrete for ornamental pathways and walkways.
This marks its entry into RMC business, as a new line of busines which is being driven by India’s growth momentum, and both Central and state governments' initiatives to advance infrastructure projects. Shree Cement will build new units as well as acquire plants.
The company is firm on maintaining its performance benchmarks, and is ramping up capacity utilisation, raising cost efficiency and further stepping up R&D efforts, as well as enhancing brand equity .
